We Went Ice Skating!

My sweet friend, Jennifer Pounders, texted me a couple of days ago saying she was taking her kids ice skating in Tupelo, and they would love for us to go with them. My sister has been mopey since she got back from New York City (not really mopey...just a little disappointed)...because the line to ice skate at Rockefeller Center was so long...she decided to forego the wait and buy a Tory Burch purse instead (and I totally may have butchered the spelling of that name, but I am being too lazy to google it). Anway...she and I took the girls over to Tupelo today to meet up with Jennifer, Emma Kate, and Evan...and we had a blast!
Let me tell you...the last time these legs were on ice in skates was probably 25 years ago...back in my Girl Scout days.

Macy and Lucy thought it was awesome. Both of them caught on pretty quickly...Macy especially...she was skating all over the place!

And you KNOW we had to check out the concessions and get a bright red cherry snowcone...
I love for my children to be friends with my friends' children (try to say that 10 times real fast)!
Such sweetness!

Cupcakes and Such

Last night, my sister (Bippy) came to spend the night with us. We love when Bippy comes to town...especially when it is for an extended period of time. With her working for a company that is directly linked to college students, she usually gets really long holidays. Bippy has a new puppy, Milli, who got to spend the night, too =)

She had given Lucy a cupcake making kit for Christmas, so we thought we'd try it out while she was at our house. The little kit is way cute and so much fun. You can bake a cupcake in literally 30 seconds in the microwave. Who knew??
And they actually tasted pretty good!
This picture makes me laugh...

Once Lucy's cupcake was finished, we started the process all over for Macy.
While they made cupcakes, I sipped on some fabulous caramel apple cider. If you like apple cider, you must try this! It is very simple...just simmer apple cider (the kind out of the bottle...like apple juice...only apple cider) on the stove...once it is hot, add a Tablespoon of caramel (I just used the squirt kind that you would use on ice cream) for each cup of cider that you have simmering. When the caramel dissolves, pour it into your mug(s). I added some RediWip and a little extra caramel on top. It is divine!
This morning, while I was cleaning up and attempting to get things back to normal, I had to laugh at the clean side of my kitchen sink...everything was pink and white =)
We have been cooped up inside the house so much over the week and a half since everybody has been so sick. Tonight, we decided to bundle up and head into town and get some ice cream and look at Christmas lights...the ones that are still up anyways. It made for a fun night!
I am not sure how smart it was to go get 2 little girls ice cream at 8:30 at night...it is nearly midnight, and they are still going strong!! But they are having fun and being (for the most part) sweet...and ya'll know I love staying up late, so I am enjoying the company =)

A Very Merry Christmas

I snuck in the living room before the girls got up to snap a couple of pictures. Santa Claus came to visit the Willcutt girls =)
Macy and Lucy were excited to find all the things that were on their lists, plus a few things that were not. I think Lucy was most excited about her unicorn pillow pet..oh my goodness, she has talked about it nonstop!
American girl dolls for each girl...
By 8:00 a.m., we had played games, made lots of music, and had dressed up like Fancy Nancy!

I think the most magical thing about Christmas Day was that it SNOWED! In Mississippi, snow is a rarity...and snow on Christmas Day is pretty much unheard of! It was beautiful!! We took a bunch of pictures in the snow right before we headed to my parents' house.

My sweet Nana when she got to my Mom and Dad's (my Dad went and picked her up...she stopped driving at about 95)...

Attempting to snap a picture of all 4 great-grandchildren plus a great-granddog with Nana...
Stockings at my parents' are the best =)
Lots and lots of fun...

New boots for me =)
Really...stockings at my parents' are the best. This is my stocking from when I was little bitty...and my Mom still fills it full. I save mine opening my stocking until the very last thing...and I take each little thing out one at a time.
My parents got each other the same coffee mug...too funny =)
Me and J (who by this point, bless his heart, had gotten the flu)...
Me and Bippy...
Me and my Nana...
Me and my Mom and Dad...
A little cousin love =)
Lucy and Milli...
After breakfast at my Mom and Dad's, we came home to get ready to head to Jason's parents' house.
I tried to get a picture of all the kids, but after 39 tries, this is the best I got...
Lucy got a sleeping bag with her name on it. After sleeping in Macy's every night, she was so excited to have her own!
Macy will now know more about horses than she already knows...
When we got home Christmas night, there were a few presents left under the tree. Macy had made us all gifts out of melty beads and pipe cleaners and had wrapped them herself. So sweet.
So we opened a couple more presents...

And got baths and snuggled up in new bathrobes. Macy and Lucy look (and were!) so snuggly =)
Then we sat back and watched them enjoy all their new Christmas gifts. They played for hours. I like making Christmas last as long as possible, so we let the girls stay up as late as they wanted. Christmas this year was so wonderful...amazing and magical. We celebrate so many things at Christmas...Jesus, life, family, each other...my heart is full of so much...I hope your Christmas was amazing and magical and full of joy as well.
