First of all, I am out of creative titles!
Second of all, I am loving the new updated version of blogger!  Updates usually scare me, but this is a good change!
Today, I gathered up all of my cards and letters and Bible verses and books I had been given to help me during my miscarriage and put them in a box.  This gave me such a feeling of closure.  I still have moments of sadness, but God has given me a peace that has allowed me to have this closure and to move forward.  For that I am so thankful.  I have some things that I would like to share about my walk through this hard time...special books and Bible verses that helped. I plan on doing a post on that before too long.  

 I did some cleaning out in my bathroom.  How I manage to collect so much stuff in bathroom drawers and cabinets is beyond me.  Before I cleaned out, everything was just a jumbled up mess!  I threw away so many nearly empty bottles and tons of stuff that had expired.

 Lucy has been working so hard to master a head stand.  She works on it almost every day.  She has finally mastered balancing herself upside down for a few seconds...

Tonight, the girls and I met up with a friend of Macy's and went to see "Mirror Mirror."  It was a really good movie.  Here we are before we left...

Saturday Morning Sticky Bun Smiles

I made sticky buns for breakfast this morning and got super big smiles!!!

 I had seen a recipe on pinterest and decided to try it out. 

 The original recipe can be found here, but I decided to double it (which made two layers), so I am going to post my adaptation of it.

Sticky Bun Breakfast Ring

4 small tubes refrigerator buttermilk biscuits (10's)

6 Tbsp butter, melted

1 cup pankcake syrup

2/3 cup light brown sugar, packed

1 tsp cinnamon

Spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray.  Combine the melted butter and syrup in a small bowl and set aside.  In another small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.  Place about a third of the syrup mixture in the bottom of the pan.  Then sprinkle a third of the brown sugar mixture on top.  Lay two of the cans of biscuits in the pan to make one layer (sort of overlapping).  Pour another third of the syrup and sugar mixtures over the first layer of biscuits.  Then lay the other two cans of biscuits on top of the first layer to make a second layer.  Top with remaining syrup and sugar mixtures.  Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 25 minutes or until golden brown.  Cool for a couple of minutes in the pan, then invert onto a serving platter.  Enjoy!

Easter Eggs and "Jesus' Light"

My girls love to dye Easter eggs...I love it too!  We decided today would be a good day to dye some eggs.  Macy has had a little bug for a few days (she hasn't been to school in 3 days!).  It's not a wretched stomach virus, just some sort of little bug.  I feel so terrible for her...I bet she has lost 5 lbs!  So Macy and I picked Lucy up at noon, came home, and got busy with the eggs.

I was so proud of my hard boiled eggs.  Usually about half of them end up cracked, but not this time...only one cracked...yay!  I added a little salt and some vinegar to the water...not sure if that helped anything, but it seemed to.

A Busy Couple of Days

Our week had a pretty busy start to it.

I think just about every baby tooth in Lucy's little mouth is loose at this point. It won't be long until her first top tooth falls out...

Sister loves some math. Her big sister isn't too fond of it, but Lucy LOVES it and want to do math problems every day!

Macy has been working hard on her science project this week...
We've been finding JOY in this absolutely gorgeous weather we are having!!

We spent most of the afternoon outside yesterday. Lucy did her surfing act again...

The girls love, love, love riding their bikes. I grew up with a steep hill for a driveway, so when we wanted to ride bikes, we had to load up and go to an empty flat parking lot. I love that my girls can go outside and ride their bikes whenever they want to.

Today was a fun day. Macy's class had a field trip to Jackson. We got to go to our capital building, which is amazing. The House of Representatives was in session so we got to sit in on a little of that. Seeing all the hustle and bustle that goes on in our state capital building is just crazy to me!

Afterwards, we went to the children't museum there in Jackson. It is a new museum and is so cool. The kids had a blast running (excuse me, walking...they got in trouble if that ran!) around and playing with all the hands on exhibits. Macy LOVED milking the cow...

I was texting Jason pictures from my phone, and he texted me a picture of what Lucy was doing....

She spent the afternoon at work with her Daddy and had her own cement mountain to climb *Ü*

I bumped into two blog readers in Jackson today...one that I know because she used to live in Columbus (hey Brandy!), and one I had never met...she just recognized me (hey Rebecca!)...so fun!!!

Sunday Rituals

As usual, we took our Sunday snaps today. With the time change and the new season, the sun gets in the girls' eyes now when we take pictures in our normal spot.

So we turned it around...

I got some open-eyed smiles.

We don't have pancakes EVERY Sunday night, but when we have pancakes, it is usually on Sundays. Jason made personalized initial pancakes for the girls...

He also made American Girl size ones too...

I have to show you the dress Lucy's doll is wearing...my Mom made it out of a doll-size pillow case that my grandmother (my Mamaw, my Dad's Mom) made years and years ago. Isn't it sweet?

Lots of Saturday Fun

Lucy headed outside to play as soon as she woke up this morning. She loves playing in the backyard. I am not sure exactly what she is doing in these pictures, because I took them through the glass on the back door), but whatever it is, Abby is sitting so patiently...waiting on Lucy to throw her tennis ball (the little blue dot in the grass inbetween the two of them)...

Abby would sit forever waiting on you to throw her ball. She is STILL waiting...

Once Lucy was finished outside, she came in and declared that she and Macy were going to have a cotton ball blowing contest. Where the girl comes up with these things, I do not know!

Today was one of those Saturdays where we had nothing on our agenda. I was determined to get some things done around the house.

THIS gave me the biggest sense of accomplishment...

Empty laundry baskets. Which of course are full now, but oh well...

While the girls and Jason were gone to work with the horse, I decided to tackle my closet. I know, I show ya'll before and after pictures of my closet all of the time. And I say I am never going to let it get to that messy state again. But who am I kidding??

I know it doesn't look like I did much, but I really did. It feels so good to walk in my closet now! I also decided to clean out my dresser and chest of drawers, which hadn't been done in forever. I now have a clean closet and clean drawers...and a massive pile of stuff to donate. Yay!

Before my miscarriage, I came up with a plan to clean everything out...EVERYTHING...before a baby came. I had actually already gotten started on it. And while all the cleaning out I did today made me feel good, it also got me sort of down thinking that I wasn't cleaning out for the purpose of a baby coming in the fall. I got emotional. And I don't function well when I am emotional. I had supper all planned out for the night, and when I went to get my recipes out to make my grocery list, I couldn't find them. I was planning on fixing a meal that I have fixed a hundred times, but those specific recipes were g.o.n.e. I sat and squalled my eyes out. I think half my brain left my body when I had that miscarriage.

The Lord knows what we need and when we need it, this I know. Now I am not saying that I have to have something material every time I feel this way...because that is not the case at all. But after clearing my head, finding another recipe, going to the store, and coming back home, I found a package waiting for me on the kitchen counter. And inside it was this...

And I cried again...happy tears this time...and it reminded me that "every little thing is going to be okay." (Lucy sings me that song from "Ramona and Beezus" all the time, bless her heart).

I took a little breather before fixing supper and went outside to find Lucy surfing on the driveway (complete with a lifejacket of course)...in water that she had drawn with sidewalk chalk...

Once we all got back inside, I got started on dinner. Lucy loves to help...

I posted the recipe I made for supper here. It ended up being about a hundred times better than the original planned meal *Ü*

And after supper, we decided to have a peep roast outside! It was just something we decided to do on a whim...and it was so much fun. It was a perfect night for it.

I think this is something we will definitely do again.
